Genscreen builds a portfolio of health service, research service and biotech businesses.
The existing portfolio will be added to over time with projects that meet our selection criteria.
Our objective is to continually harvest the portfolio of businesses - we identify, build and exit - at a capital profit for shareholders – portfolio companies and businesses.
Our process model typically involves the following steps:
- find particularly promising medical-scientific IP from leading centres and researchers in an area we have an interest in;
- add IP through detailed value-add work we do;
- secure the international exploitation rights to such IP;
- establish a stand-alone company, giving Genscreen shareholders founder shares in the NewCo and then operate it as a virtual company until a separate management team is justified
- leverage government grants and public infrastructure to finalise development and undertake commercialisation
- make the business self-sustaining asap and build the value of the business through deals & partnerships
- offer Genscreen shareholders further mezzanine investment opportunities in the offshoot company
- create significant increases in valuation through the achievement of technical and corporate milestones
- exit in a tax-effective manner for our shareholders
